8 Days Marrakech to Fez Details:
Day 1 : Arrival to and explore Marrakech :
Our team will be waiting for you in the Airport with your name on a signe to pick you up toward your Riad to drop off your luggage then start exploring Marrakech ” the red city of Morocco” Your guide will ensure that you see the most important places of historical and cultural interest, including the Saadien tombs; the Palaces of El Bahia and El Badi; and the Ben Youssef Coranique school. Lunch at a restaurant near the square, then in the afternoon visit the Majorelle Gardens and the Koutoubia tower. Overnight accommodation will be in a riad.. Bed and Breakfast.
Day 2 : Marrakech to Dades via Atlas mountains and Ouarzazate:
Depart in the morning heading east toward Ouarzazate via the Tizi N’tichka Pass en route passing through the High Atlas Mountains where you can stop to take scenic pictures along the way. After which, you will visit Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient Kasbah (fortified village) listed as UNESCO’s heritage site, and many famous movies were also filmed there.
You will continue to Ouarzazate, also known as the Hollywood of Africa, which houses the largest movie studios on the continent. We can stop over there for lunch (optional) before setting off through the Skoura, which is an extensive oasis of palm groves, to a beautiful Kasbah called Kasbah Amrhydil. We will then drive through the Rose Valley where the Rose Festival is held every May in this town.
After that, the driver will change directions to take an off-beaten track through the mountains populated by the nomads of the Atlas. On the way, keep your eyes open for a numerous Berber villages constructed using mud and bricks. Night will be spent in a hotel in Dades Valley. Dinner, Bed and Breakfast
Day 3: Dades Gorges – Palm trees of Tinjdad – Merzouga
After breakfast in the hotel, drive back through the valley to see the amazing rock formation “the monkey toes”, and the still-standing 19th century Kasbah of Ait Yul. Leave the Dades valley towards Tinrghir and the Todra valley. Watch the panoramic views of the old mud Berber villages overlooking the valley. Get to the Gorge and walk under the 300m high red cliff, where many Rock-climbers come to enjoy their preferred sport.
Continue our trip to Erfoud and Rissani where we have lunch; afterwards, we leave for the village of Merzouga where you will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before you check into your accommodation.DBB
Day 4: Merzouga area and the Camel trek
After breakfast in the Hotel you will start your explorative journey of the area, visiting the village of the blacks, originally slaves from Sudan to experience their music and lifestyle. Not far away there’s the lake of Merzouga, with its bird populations, including flamingos ( If there will be enough water). You may also like to visit the nomad wire house where many Berber handicrafts are priced lower than in the big cities.
On the afternoon you will mount your camel, guided by an experienced Camel man, to explore within the mysterious sand-sea of the Erg-Chebbi. Here you will spend your night under the stars. Dinner will be served in the tent where you will spend the night. Dinner Bed and Breakfast. DBB.
Day 5 : Merzouga – Erfoud – Errachidia – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes
You will wake up early to watch sunrise at the dunes before riding back to the auberge on the camels where you will have breakfast and shower. We will then leave for Errachidia via Erfoud to the Ziz valley. Lunch will be at Midelt. After which, we will pass through the cedar woods at Azrou and the Middle Atlas where you will see the wild monkies before ending off at Fes. nigh tin a Riad with Bed and Breakfast
Day 6 : Explore Fez
After breakfast in your riad , you will start exploring the oldest city in Morocco, walking in its alleys and small streets. Our visit starts by visiting the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish headquarter ,the first Mellah ever built in Morocco, built during the 16th century. We will ensure that you visit all sites with cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the region, the Tanneries, the Attarine museum and Mulay Idriss mausoleum.
After lunch, you will visit the tiles cooperative and then experience a wonderful panoramic view over the whole Medina of Fes.In the afternoon, we will visit the new city “La ville nouvelle” for a drink, night in the same Riad, Bed and Breakfast
Day 7 : Chefchaouen Day trip :
After the breakfast in your Riad or Hotel you will start your day trip toward Chefchaouen which is a Morocco popular tourist attraction and welcoming town nestled in the Rif Mountains just south of the Mediterranean coastline in northwest Morocco. Chefchaouen is known as “blue city” for its traditional buildings. Enjoy a walk to explore the white and blue washed walls of the medina and the markets that offer some unique native handicrafts.
Chefchaouen is a fantastic destination for photography with its wonderful views of the Rif Mountains. Free 4 Hours to explore it on your own and Back to Fez in the afternoon. Nightin the same hotel bed and breakfast
Day 8 : Free time in Fez and transfer to Fez Sais Airport depend on your flight time
