Erg Chebbi tour details : 

Day 01: Fes to Merzouga via Midelt

After breakfast in your riad, you will leave Fes travelling towards Ifran, a beautiful mountains village, referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco” and then on to Midelt. During this journey you’ll experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Stopping at the cedar forest – the largest in Morocco – where you may well sight Barbary apes.

After sometime within the forest, your journey continues to Midelt along the magnificent hills and mountains of the Atlas, after Midelt town you will be travelling through the fascinating Tizi Ntalghamt pass and the Ziz Gorge, taking in views of the High Atlas plateau, you’ll notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia.

Afterwards, you will travel along the luxuriant Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way to Erfoud and Rissani. Arrive at Merzouga on the afternoon. Where your night will be in a hotel with Dinner and Breakfast.

Day 02: Explore Erg Chebbi area

After breakfast in your riad, you will start an explorative journey of the area before you camel trek and spend the night at the desert camp. Today, you’ll visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan, to experience their music, dances and lifestyle.

Not far away. M’Ifis old mine and a short visit to the nomads living between the sand dunes and Algerian border.  In the afternoon you will mount your camel, guided by an experienced camel man to explore within the golden sand sea of Merzouga. Dinner in the camp where you will spend the Night.

Day 03: Merzouga to Ouarzazat via Todgha Gorges and Rose valley

Your camel will wake you up early in the morning to watch and take photographs of the sunrise. Then you will have breakfast and return quietly by camel to the town of Merzouga. Along the way you can’t help but appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes, which change with the light as the day progresses.

Meet your driver and set out for the Rissani, Tinghir and Todra gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. Lunch will be wherever you want and then you will drive to the Dades and Rose valley where you may visit one of the  rose oil and water destillation then to Ouarzazate. Night in a hotel with dinner and breakfast.

Day 04: Ouarzazat to Marrakech via Ait Benhaddou

After your breakfast at the hotel,we will start the last day by a visit to Taourirt kasbah (the former residence of the Glaoui), a visit of the cinema studios (optional), then drive to Ait Benhaddou an ancient Kasbah (fortified village) listed as UNESCO’s heritage site, and many  famous movies were filmed there. Lunch can be here then another 4 hours drive via the tizi ntichka pass with stops along, get to Marrakech around 19:00. The end of your Erg Chebbi Tour .
